The Music of the Spheres (Musica Universalis)

This series of drawings are an essential aspect to my current project. I began with a microcosm drawn on manuscript paper, and decided it would serve as the starting point for an 8-part musical composition. The following drawing was for separating the microcosms into "systems". Once I live-traced those systems into Adobe Illustrator, I plotted points inside each circle over a music staff similar to that used on music box paper scrolls. This is an indeterminate method of composition which follows Arnold Schoenberg's 12-tone row composition style in that there is no dominant key for this composition. The resulting song will be a myriad of consonance and dissonance.
